Consolidated sales in the fourth quarter increased by a low single-digit percentage, and gross margin improved slightly over a very strong level a year ago. In terms of our segments in the fourth quarter, paint stores group sales increased in the range we expected, led by high single-digit growth in residential repaint and protective and marine.
